Spunky Harper: Sweeping me off my feet

So darn hard to get good help these days. I'm still fortunate to have one angel in the person of Nanay Jogen; Harperoo's nanay... but I hope for divine intervention once again to show its powers as I pray for an ate/nanay for Super A and Hope.

In the meantime, I'm just glad God blessed me my little angel to help. When I am in the kitchen preparing for their meals, she also does her share of chore work by picking up the broom and the dust pan and sweep away.

I hope to instill in my girls the value of doing chores because, for me, it is a good exercise in discipline, organization and just over-all cleanliness. And this transcends even to cleaning up your act (in life) when you need to. When negativity surrounds me at any point in time, I spot-clean the house upside-down and I feel a lethargic sense of relief. I have a friend who also told me that she really makes it a point to wash her clothes because it is therapeutic for her.

Some may argue about this and may say that children get conditioned on household work instead of having an ambition. I say though that it's all about balance. So when Spunky Harper sets out for the broom and the dust pan, I welcome it. If she learns something from it, sige... sige sa mantsa!
